Google Lively 也推出了几天了，众说纷纭。确实，Google Lively 是一个和Google以往产品有很大风格上差别的东西。但是，几天玩Lively下来，我发现一件事，Google Lively 和中国有不小的关系。
首先是主要负责人。cnBeta上前几天报道了Google推出Lively是工程师业余之作，文中指出这位工程师叫Niniane Wang。这是一位在Google工作的中国女工程师，中文名叫王忻，个人主页是：http://niniane.org/（有中文版，http://niniane2.googlepages.com/home，但目前Gpages被和谐了）。
Surely Google Lively supports English. However, after try lively for several days, we know that lively is a world-wide chat room and we are sad to notice that Google Lively does not support other languages. Actually, Google does support every foreign language, from Chinese to Hindi. Here is the hack of how to do so.
It’s simple but not very easy. You type your language somewhere (the firefox search box, address bar or a text editor), the you copy the words.
After that, you paste the words into the text box in Lively room from the clipboard. It’s all OK now. Here are some screen shot.

How to move your avatar
Moving is a basic action in Lively room. Without moving, you can almost do nothing. Here are three ways to move your avatar in a Lively room.
1.Drag Your Avatar
This is the most used way to move your avatar. Put your mouse pointer on your avatar, the pointer will become a cross. Then, hold Left Click, and you can move your mouse to dray your avatar now. With this, you can move your avatar to anywhere you can see.
2.Click somewhere to move
In the lively room, if you want to reach somewhere, you just need to click at that place. It’s easy. And it is another way to move. By clicking, you can moving swiftly~
3.Move to an object
If you want to talk with another avatar, or you want to sit on a chair, you need to go to that object. An easiest way to do so is that you click on that object, and choose "Move to". After that, you will arrive your destination~

Choose a room to join
Since Google Lively is a 3D chat room service, chatting is the key point. So it is important to choose a suitable room for you to enjoy chatting.
Here are 5 ways to choose a good room for you:
1.Popular Room
When you enter the page: http://www.lively.com/, Google will automatically direct your page to http://www.lively.com/popular, a list of popular rooms.
In the Popular Rooms, you will see rooms ranked by popularity, not the number of total visitors who have visited one room. So, the top room in the Popular Rooms list is a room with the most visitors at the current time. If you want to meet more anonymous people there, just enter the popular room~
Tips:If you want to enter a room , just double click on its thumbnail~
2. New room
If you click the New room link, google will direct you to a page with the newest room created by Lively user. These rooms can be filtered by “High Activity”, “Low Activity”, or even “Empty”. If you want to chat in the newest created room, just go to the new room page and choose one~
3.Friends’ room
Lively is a social network, so you have friends here~ Once you add someone as your contact, and this user also adds you as a contact, you became friends. In Lively, friends can do something that anonymous cannot do, which will be introduced later~
Now, you go to http://www.lively.com/friends. If you have friends and if your friends have created their rooms, you will see a list of rooms created by your friends.
This is amazing! Just like the real life in the world! You have your friends and you can pay a visit to them. However, it is much easier to do that in Lively~Enjoy it!
4.All room
All room is just like Yahoo! in Lively. It is a portal. In the page of http://www.lively.com/rooms, you can see all of the rooms existed in Lively. Like that in New room, the rooms in All room can be filtered by “High Activity”, “Low Activity”, or even “Empty”. And more, the rooms can be sorted here. All rooms can be sorted by “Occupancy” (number of current visitors), “Visitor” (the total number of people who have visited the room), and “Date Created”.
5.Search is everything
The last but not the least. Lively is a Google labs product, so it surely has its search engine. Just enter the keywords you’d like to search, then you will get all the rooms in your favorite~ It’s easy!

如何创建一个房间
1.创建房间
进入 http://www.lively.com/mine, 你会看到 “Create a new room” 的按钮 (如下图)
点击按钮, 然后你就会进入登录界面：（如下图）
2.登录
输入你的Google账户名和密码之后，点击“Sign in”即可。
3.编辑你的房间信息
进入你新创建的 Lively Room之后, 你会看到一个 Room Properties 表单 (见下图)
1.在 Room Title 里输入你的房间名称
2.在 Room Description 里写下你的房间介绍 (如 “It’s like the end of Star Wars… But…”).
3.我想绝大多数人都希望自己的房间被列入 Lively Room List. 所以勾上 Public Directory下面的方框.
4.Public Decorating
如果你希望访客可以创建，移动和删除家居和物品，选择 Public.
如果你只希望访客移动这些物品，选择 Interactive.
如果你不希望访客做任何事，只是让他们进入房间聊天，那么选择 Private.
4.保存缩略图
在 Google Lively Room Directory里面会显示出你的房间缩略图（如下图）
点击Web Pages标签， Google Lively 说 “The current view may be saved for the thumbnail image that appears in the web page.” 选择当前的画面作为你想出现在 Google Lively Directory里的缩略图, 点击 Save Thumbnail. 就好了. (见下图)
5.上传音乐
很酷的一个功能～你可以上传自己的音乐到 Google Lively. 然后进入你的房间就可以听到你上传的音乐了～
注意：Google Lively 说了 “Audio updates are delayed while uploaded files are converted to proper formats.” (见下图)
6.选择一款皮肤
点击Shells标签，为你自己的房间选一个喜欢的场景吧~
7.装饰你的房间
在做了上面的6件事之后，你有了你的Beta版房间了~
小贴士：为了能方便装饰你的房间，最好把视角选为“Bird Eye’s View”
a. 添加家具
点击右边的“Furniture”按钮, 你会看到 “Furniture & Things” 的表单:
你有两种添加家具的方式：
1.双击你想添加的家具
2.单击你想添加的家具，然后点击添加
b.移动家具
在你添加完一个家具之后，它会被摆放在你当前站立的位置，但是你可能觉得这个位置不好，所以你需要移动它们。
将你的鼠标移动到家具上面，你的鼠标指针会变成一个十字，按住左键，你就可以拖拽你的家居了～
小贴士: 当你的鼠标摆放到一个家居上，它的上面会出现一个圈，将鼠标移到圈上面，指针会扭曲，按住左键，你就可以旋转这个家具了，将它调整到你想要的方向。
C.编辑家具
双击一个家具，然后选择Edit标签（如下图），你可以在里面输入你想输入的网址～
好了，在干完以上这些后，你就有你的RC版Room了～然后邀请你的朋友来你的房间，把你的房间越办越好吧～
小贴士:
如果你想更改你的房间信息（如名称，简介或缩略图），只要点击“Add a new room/Edit your room”按钮，即可进行编辑～（如下图）

Just enter your Google Account’s Username and Password, click “Sign in” , the you are logging in your new Lively Room!(see pic above)
3.Edit your Room Properties
Once you have logged into your new Lively Room, you will see the Room Properties form (see pic below)
to let people know what your room is about (like “It’s like the end of Star Wars… But…”).
3.I think most people want their rooms to be included in the Lively Room List. So
.
If you wish visitors to add, move or remove objects, choose Public.
If you just want visitors to move objects, choose Interactive.
Or you just want your visitors to do nothing but talk, choose Private.
It is not necessary to do now, but I want to tell you how to make the thumbnail for your room (the thumbnail will be showed in the Google Lively Room Directory, just like pic blow)
Click the Web Pages Tab, the Google Lively says “The current view may be saved for the thumbnail image that appears in the web page.” Choose the current view you want to show in the Google Lively Directory, and click Save Thumbnail. It’s Ok now. (see pic below)
It’s amazing! You can upload your favorite music to Google Lively. And your music will be played in your own room!
Notice：Google Lively says, “Audio updates are delayed while uploaded files are converted to proper formats.” (see pic below)
A shell is like a theme for a blog. You can choose a shell for you new room. It’s cool~ (See pic below)
After doing all these things, now you will have your beta room now~
Tips: To decorate your new room, it is wisely to change your view to “Bird Eye’s View”
Click the “Furniture” button in the right sidebar, you will see the “Furniture & Things” form now:
you have two method to add furniture:
1.double click the furniture
2.click the furniture, and click add to your room
Once you add a furniture, it will be placed where you are. But it may not be the perfect place for it. So you need to move your furniture.
Move your mouse to the furniture you want to move, and your mouse will become a cross. Now, you can drag and drop the furniture to wherever you want.
Tips: When you move your mouse around a furniture, your mouse will bend. And if you hold your mouse and move, the furniture will turn a round. Stop when the furniture direction is OK.
Double click a furniture and it will pop up a ticket. Click the Edit tag, you can enter Hyperlink for your furniture. (See pic below)
Now, you will have your RC Lively Room~
Just invite your friends to your room and do more to your room. Enjoy it~
Tips:
If you want to change your Room Propertys, you can click the “Create a new room/Edit your room” to edit.
